Pathfinder RPG, possibly Planescape

I'm open to joining an existing game as well.
If I end up being the DM (I'm open to trying) I will need someone with experience to kind of help me out, because I've pretty much never DMed (just did a one shot game a long time ago, but that hardly counts). Also if I DM I'm leaning towards it being a Planescape game.
Saturdays are preferred.

I've been a bit busy and haven't been checking this page. I was planning on playing a Human Rogue - which I'm rolling up at the moment. Open to change if the party balance suggests it, though. I'll be there at 3.

I don't have a character made. Do you have any pre-con's?

I have a 2nd lvl shifter/Ranger character from Eberron (Prime Material Plane) that I would like to play. Will that work in the group?

Yes, your character could still even originally be from Eberron still if you want. You'll want to level the character to 4th, and you'll also want to update your character using the Pathfinder rules some though. Here's the Pathfinder Ranger: http://paizo.com/path...

Just a little update, I have my character mostly set up. I’m planning on playing a human long spear wielding Oracle. All I need to figure out is how much gp worth of equipment and many hit points he’ll have.

Here's some character creation details (if you want to generate your character before game):

Please note: these things are still open to discussion, if anyone has any ideas or questions please feel free to discuss.

    Race and class
Since this is Planescape your options are pretty broad. You can be a being from one of the planes, or the prime material (Forgotten Realms for example) whom has somehow ended up on the planes. Some races I recommend considering, particularly if you have nothing else in mind:

    - The core D&D races (any of these are perfectly acceptable),
    - Tiefling and aasimar (please note that I’m doing these races a bit differently, so let me know if you want to play one before you create your character)
    -Gensai
    - Other planar races such as the mephlings and bariaur.

How to generate your ability scores:
Determine your ability scores using the point buy system in the Pathfinder core rule book. You get 20 points.

      Starting level:
Characters will start at 4th level or equivalent. This will allow people to play races with a LA of up to 3.

Races with a level adjustment: -1 from your LA. Races in Pathfinder are all ready beefed up compared to standard D&D versions, so this should help balance things out some.

I can be there on Saturday. I DM another game and can bring my stuff over or do some co-DMing if you like.

By the way, are we going to write up characters then and there or should we come with one already generated?

    November 25, 2012

    • Megan B.

A co-DM would definitely help. If you want to generate your character before game please let me know what you have in mind first, in fact that would be helpful to know ahead of time regardless. This is Planescape so it leaves a huge number of options outside just core races. If you want to play something off-beat this is the perfect setting for it. But I have some house rules that will be relevant depending on what race you want to play. I'll post a few things about character generation soon (probably no later than Tuesday) but I have a few other decision to make (such as do I want to do point buy, or random die roll and the like).

Outer Planes works for me too.
    Are you thinking this Saturday?

      I'm thinking next Saturday.

Glad to hear people are interested. Outer Planes sounds good as an initial meetup spot. I'm thinking probably around 3pm. We could always meetup and discuss what direction we want this game to go, and a DM (could even do some sort of rotating DM thing, that could be interesting).

I'm interested - Saturdays would work best for me, as would somewhere central or downtownish. (Outer Planes is around corner from me). I haven't DM'ed - and it's been awhile since I've been able to play.
