If for some reason you you can't make the July Meetup, but do plan on attending this year's San Diego Comic-Con please look us up. The SoulGeek.com booth can be found at space 2517 surrounded by Alex Ross, Bongo (The Simpsons/Futurama), The Comic-Con International Boutique and Dark Horse Comics. Seriously, how cool is that? Drop on by, say "hello" and we'll give you some free stuff! That Dino Guy

    •  I lied. It wasn't 400 people, but the 10 Forward lounge was crowded with lots of great people. The atmosphere was friendly with lots of interesting conversations going on every where. The costumes enticed quite a few people to stop in that were just cruising the area sightseeing. While it's convenient and easy to shop for a date online, meeting them in person adds that personal dimension. There is nothing like direct personal interaction to find out if that somebody who's profile you scanned is really somebody you might want to ask out. Also, you may find somebody who's profile didn't impress you is something far more special than you thought. Dino, Richard and Crispin really added to the fun atmosphere of the meeting. If you missed out on this meetup, make the effort to go to the next one. You won't be disappointed.

I'm so glad I got to meet the absolutely wonderful Dino and all the SoulGeeks that came out. If you missed this one, be sure to get there next month!
    •  It was great fun! Lots of interesting people, tasty libations, and some very cool speakers. It would have been nice to see a few more costumes, but overall I enjoyed myself and look forward to attending the next one.

This was a cool meetup / SoulGeek event. (I will admit the ratio of females:males was better than I thought it was going to be!) I am planning on trying to make the next one.
    •  The meet up was interesting. Wish we had more time, and perhaps a little more elbow room. Too bad there wasn't enough interest in a second round of "speed dating", but thems the breaks. Nice to get to know the people and stories behind the soulgeek contributors. Hope that the next meetup is posted soon. Note to self: Make sure the camera is fully charged before coming in.
    •  Nice venue, though it was a bit frustrating to try and talk over the background 'music' the coffee shop was playing at several points (can we just bring film scores next time and pipe them through at half volume? It's pretty much a private event, and they're getting dedicated business for 4-5 hours, so I don't think they'd mind). It was great to talk to folks of similar interests; I'm definitely going again! :)
    •  Venue was cozy with plenty of seating. About a ratio of 2 male to 1 female, which made speed dating unavailable for me. Some dressed up, very few wallflowers, although I was unfortunately in that group. The hosts and guest speakers were quite warm and kept the events of the evening in constant motions, but by the time I got there most of the ladies were in conversations with one another or other men, so to find an available woman wasn't possible, save by being rude and interrupting a conversation. I'll give it one more shot, hoping to get there early enough to strike up a conversation.
