The Mile High Chapter (Established: 1948) is home to Sound of the Rockies chorus and is a member of the world's largest all-male singing organization, the Barbershop Harmony Society, an organization of over 25,000 men of all ages, from all walks of life, who love to sing a cappella harmony.
Sound of the Rockies actively participates in and promotes a variety of singing activities along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. We produce three shows each year, a Spring Show in March, a Summer Spectacular in June, and a Christmas Show in December.
Quartets composed of members from the chorus spread Valentine cheer to sweethearts throughout the Metro area during our Singing Valentine program. The Sound of the Rockies and several chapter quartets are active competitors, participating in district and international competitions sponsored by the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Currently there are over one hundred tenors, leads, baritones and basses in the Sound of the Rockies but prospective members can be auditioned at any time and are encouraged to visit a rehearsal to learn more about our top-ranked chorus. Men and boys of all ages who are looking for a challenging musical ensemble that stresses excellence in singing, showmanship and entertainment will find a community of like-minded "brothers" eager to welcome them.
We meet each Thursday at 7PM in the fellowship hall of Christ Church, 2950 S. University Boulevard in Denver, CO.
