Festa de Yemanja

Yearly celebration to Yemanja, Godess of the ocean.
You MUST wear WHITE for the event.
Weather is usually nice in Santa Cruz at end of September. I listed the location as the Crow's Nest, so you have an address to enter on your GPS, but the party is actually at Twin Lakes beach. Music and dancing on the beach, walking to the ocean, and then, if space is available, we can ride on boats to offer flowers to Yemanja. You can see the pictures from last year event.

Please bring some flowers to offer to Yemanja, if you can.

And don't forget to wear white!

Also note that there may not be space on the boats for all the group, some people hang around on the beach.

Very low key but a great time...the procession to the ocean is my favorite part and we were lucky enough to get on a boat with a mast decorated in flowers to proceed out to sea and throw flowers to the Yemanja....i felt very lucky to be a part of this

In case you haven't been before and are wondering what the Santa Cruz Yemanja festival is like, here's a short video I made last year after the festival: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdtarbAO1Ms .
