For the fifth year, we’re going to be taking over Lupin’s restaurant for a South Bay crafting and costuming workshop. It’s a great opportunity to meet other tailors and seamstresses, get new ideas, fire up several sewing machines at the same time, and cut out that pattern for your new 2014 playa look. Even if you’ve never sewn from a pattern, have you always wanted to figure out how to make your default wardrobe a little burnier? Learn how easy it is to construct/deconstruct thrift store finds, making leg warmers out of old sweaters, embellish clothes with a “steam punk” flair – give yourself space to get your creative freak on!
We’ll meet starting at 2pm at Lupin Lodge in Los Gatos, and work until 6pm. If you finish early, the hot tubs will be fired up and the sauna will be cozy, too, so there will be a token admission to Lupin grounds of $10. RSVP to [masked] for coordination on what to bring, pointers on where to shop, or check out a few web sites in advance! If you are going to bring a sewing machine, fabric to share, or want to show off playa fashions you’ve made, chat with other sewing-challenged peeps ahead of time on the Facebook event at http://www.facebook.com/events/804729269554105
