Let's watch movie under the stars!! Redwood Parks, Rec & Events are presenting: OZ: The Great and Powerful
When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity—and even a bit of wizardry—Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz™ but into a better man as well.
Movies starts at sunset; approximately at 8:45 pm.
Redwood City Park, Rec & Events department have a limited amount of chairs and tables. The tables and chairs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. They will allow us to save up to 2 tables and 8 chairs max. I will hold the maximum tables and chairs. To avoid what happened at the last outdoor movie meetup, I will release the extra chairs and tables after 30 minutes of waiting. We gotten grief for holding to so many empty chairs and the table and we would like to avoid any issues with staff and the other movie-goers.
They allow folding chairs blankets and the fold-able stadium cushions. They will close Broadway an hour before the movie start time so that more people can sit down and enjoy the movie.
If you arrive late after the tables/chairs are taken, we will start our own spots on the courtyard ground. If the area surrounding our spot fills up, you will have to start your own spot on the courtyard (sorry, if I try getting another spot, I may risk losing our saved spot). There is no fee for the events per the redwoodcity.org website (http://www.redwoodcity.org/even...)
If you are hungry, there are many restaurants nearby at downtown Redwood City.
Don't forget a jacket or sweater...the seabreeze may be a little chilly just like the other outdoor movies venues e.g. Sundown or Starlight movie nights.
