Windows 8 Native HTML/JS Apps & Get Started With Windows Azure Mobile Service

This is going to be a fun night!  South Bay Mobile User Group has been invited to have this months meetup at the Microsoft Office in downtown LA!

Our guest speaker for the evening will be Technical Evangelist for Microsoft, Adam Tuliper. Adam will be discussing Native App Development in Windows 8 with HTML/JS and how to get started using Windows Azure Mobile Services.

Windows 8 was the first OS platform to allow fully native HTML/JS applications running across devices. These applications are called Windows Store applications and can be made available in the Windows Store. You can easily utilize your HTML/JS skills to create Windows Store applications.

You will learn:

  • What is Windows 8
  • Dev tools
  • HTML/JS app development
  • Ads and monetization

In addition, Adam will have USB drives on hand loaded with a Windows 8 trial and also with dev tools to immediately get you up and running in a free virtual environment.

You will then be introduced to Windows Azure Mobile Services and what they can provide to your Windows Store, Windows Phone, iOS, Android, and HTML app development to create a very powerful cloud backend to your application.

We will be raffling off two Lumia 920 phones and other great prizes!

Join us for this exciting event at the Microsoft Office in downtown Los Angeles!

Note: Security is incredibly tight at the facility.  If you have not include your last name in you meet up profile, you will be contacted prior to this meeting to provide us with your full name in order to gain access.

About the Speaker
Adam Tuliper works as a Technical Evangelist for Microsoft helping others understand and implement their technical solutions.
