Let's Ride!

This ride will be at a relaxed pace, perfect for advanced beginners, or anyone just looking for a nice morning ride.

As event organizer, I will reserve the right to change your RSVP should I feel you should not be on this ride.

We will meet at 10:15 AM in the Grizzly Flat parking lot on Skyline Blvd and start from there.

Tires roll at 10:25 AM or sooner if all YES RSVP's are present.

Please be there by the meet time, we don't want to leave without you!

There are no restrooms here. Skyline OSP is about 3 miles north and has restrooms.

I plan to ride the Peters Creek Trail to Long Ridge Road and onto Long Ridge Trail. This will take us back onto Peters Creek Trail to complete the loop. If you have ridden here you will remember this has some great shaded downhill single track. The uphill sections are very mild but will reward you with more smooth flowing downhill. The number of laps you would like to do is up to you. Each loop is about 3.6 miles. Your ride can be as little as 5 miles if you wish, or more. I'm thinking of doing 2 or 3 loops.

Directions:
Page Mill Road to Skyline Blvd. Then turn left and drive 3.3 miles on Skyline, the parking lot is on the left & right sides of the road.

The drive up Page Mill will take about 25-30 min from the 280/Page Mill area.

From South Bay area: Saratoga Blvd through Saratoga, it becomes Highway 9 uphill toward Skyline Blvd. At the stop sign at Skyline Blvd, turn right and the parking lot area is in about 3.6 miles on both sides of the road.

You have read the past ride reviews and seen the pictures, this is a fun group!!! As always, we will never leave anyone behind, take needed breaks, and regroup often.

If you're not sure where you are going or think you will be late, please leave earlier. We want you to join us for this ride.

Ray's Difficulty Level: "Moderate with a few modest climbs". On my scale of 1 -5, 1 being easy - I will say this may be a 2.

Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.

I will post by 8 AM a weather update if we need to cancel this ride.

Fun ride. Someone needs to teach me those slow, left, down-hill switchbacks. Someday, I'll be able to go thru them without dabbing.

Next time, we should session them. :-) And for some reason, the rights are harder for me than the lefts.

I batted 50% on the technical DH left that we did yesterday. I am 0-N (for some large value of N) on the technical left at the start of Saratoga Gap (heading north).

Coldest start I've ever done - I didn't want to get out of the warm car! Thanks to Nancy, Gary, and Collin for helping out on this ride.

39 degrees! Thanks for posting that photo, Michelle. No wonder my toes were so cold! What a great group to get out there and have fun even in the less-than-friendly weather!

Great ride. Especially liked the (downhill) switchbacks...challenging, but fun. Thanks to everybody who lead and swept!

It was a cold morning in the fog up on Skyline, but a great day to ride. Thanks to all for the peer pressure which got me through those last climbs!! And a special thanks to our leaders and sweepers: Michelle, Nancy, Gary and Joe!

Wow awesome response! Bumped this to 14 since a couple of event organizers will be there to help me keep track of everybody. However, this place isn't huge so I probably won't be increasing the limit. If you're on the wait list, hang tight. People always drop as we get closer.

To clarify my comment, I do not advocate folks signing up for rides then dropping out at the last minute. That's a bummer for everyone. After all, your event organizer doesn't have that option! :-) Please be courteous and drop out early enough to give the more reliable riders a chance to adjust their schedules and attend. Thanks!

LOL Ray. Yeah, sorry you're out of luck. ;-) Good thing you have to work anyway...
