Let's Work! Mountain BIkers of Santa Cruz

This trail work day is sponsored by South Bay Mountain Bike Group.

If you ride at Wilder, Nisene Marks, or Demo... it is time to pay back with some trail work to help out Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz to finish this new trail.

The workday is Saturday March 16th. We will meet at the Pogonip Ranger Station at 9am. Parking is limited at the end of Golf Club Drive. Park at the Corporation Yard lot or before the trestle. Sign up at trailworkers.com.

Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz, is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the promotion of mountain biking in a healthy and environmentally sound manner. We’d love to help you get to know our local trails. We sponsor events, and fund and participate in improvements to local trails, parks and advocate for the creation and preservation of multi-use trails throughout the county. Become a MBoSC member, and join us in making Santa Cruz a first-class mountain biking destination.

We are planning on another workday on the 16th to try and make more progress on the bridges and a few other tasks we want to complete before the trail opens, hopefully soon! The South Bay Mountain Biking Meetup Group will be sponsoring lunch on the 16th.

Please bring sturdy shoes, long pants, gloves, and water.

Tools will be provided.

The Pogonip is a 640 acre park in Santa Cruz between the Harvey West commercial district and the campus of the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). In 1989, the Pogonip was bought by the City of Santa Cruz for $15M back from the Cowell Foundation using CALPAW state initiative funds.

Thank you, to all of the South Bay Mountain Bike Group members that came out. We get to say that South Bay Mountain Bike Group finished the last piece of this trail so it will now connect to the UC trail network. Job well done! I can't wait to ride this new section. I will let everyone know when it opens.

Seriously hard work. I now have total appreciation for the work it takes to build trails. Thanks Ray for getting all of us out there and sponsoring lunch, and thanks Drew and all the other folks at MBoSC for getting this trail built.

I didn't realize mountain biking was such a tough sport until today. I'll be sore tomorrow! Thanks again Ray for the pizza and good times.

As long as I don't have to hike, I'm in!

Seems like people are awfully fast to RSVP Yes to rides and fill them to capacity, but I don't see those folks RSVPing here. Come on people, prove me wrong...think of the time and effort Ray puts in to make sure you all have a killer time on our rides. Let's do this!

I'm in unless my daughter has a track meet in San Jose. Will let you know as soon as I find out.

Ray, Do you know how long you will be working on the trail? I would like to help but may be limited on time.
