RSVP's will open 8 days before the ride. Please check back at that time.
This ride will be at a slower pace, perfect for advanced beginners or anyone just looking for a nice Saturday morning ride.
If you are an intermediate or better rider and want to ride faster, you should be riding with Ray at Saratoga Gap instead. ;-)
RSVPing YES for a ride and not showing will get you moved to the wait list on the next ride you do wish to go on. Please be courteous and drop out early enough to give the more reliable riders a chance to adjust their schedules and attend.
As event organizer, I will reserve the right to change your RSVP should I feel you should not be on this ride.
We will meet at 10:15 AM in the Grizzly Flat parking lot on Skyline Blvd and start from there.
Tires roll at 10:25 AM or sooner if all YES RSVP's are present.
Please be there by the meet time, we don't want to leave without you!
There are no restrooms here. Skyline OSP is about 3 miles north and has restrooms.
I plan to ride the Peters Creek Trail to Long Ridge Road and onto Long Ridge Trail. This will take us back onto Peters Creek Trail to complete the loop. If you have ridden here you will remember this has some great shaded downhill single track. The uphill sections are very mild but will reward you with more smooth flowing downhill. The number of laps you would like to do is up to you. Each loop is about 3.6 miles.
I'm thinking of doing 2 or 3 loops. If we have time and energy at the end of the ride we may add an out-and-back north towards the Christmas tree farm.
Page Mill Road to Skyline Blvd. Then turn left and drive 3.3 miles on Skyline, the parking lot is on the left & right sides of the road.
The drive up Page Mill will take about 25-30 min from the 280/Page Mill area.
From Southbay area: Saratoga Blvd through Saratoga, it becomes Highway 9 uphill toward Skyline Blvd. At the stop sign at Skyline Blvd, turn right and the parking lot area is in about 3.6 miles on both sides of the road.
This should be your chance to ride and check out this area if you have not been here before. Your ride can be as little as 5 miles if you wish, or more.
You have read the past ride reviews and seen the pictures, this is a fun group!!! As always, we will never leave anyone behind, take needed breaks, and regroup often.
If you're not sure where you are going or think you will be late, please leave earlier. We want you to join us for this ride.
Ray's Difficulty Level: "Moderate with a few modest climbs". On my scale of 1 -5, 1 being easy - I will say this may be a 2.
Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.
I will post by 8 AM a weather update if we need to cancel this ride.
