I will try to keep this ride to around 10 -12 miles.
RSVPing "YES" for a ride and not showing will get you moved off the list of the next ride you do wish to go on. Please be courteous if you need to change your RSVP and drop out early enough to give the more reliable riders a chance to adjust their schedules and attend.
This will be an Intermediate Level 3 group ride in the wooded single-track paradise known as El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve (commonly called Skegg's Point after the CalTrans scenic overlook/parking lot that is adjacent to it) in Woodside, Ca.
We will meet at 9:30 AM & leave from the "MAIN" parking area. This is not the gate #2 roadside area.
Tires roll at 9:43 AM or sooner if all YES RSVP's are present.
Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.
As organizer, I will reserve the right to change your RSVP should I feel you're not ready for this ride location.
Difficulty: Difficult; challenging climbs; technical singletrack with rocks, drops, ruts, & roots.
Trail surface: 60 percent singletrack, 40 percent dirt road.
Best to ride in summer when trails are dry and has lots of shade. Plan to ride about 10-12 miles, about 3 hours?
From 280, exit onto highway 84 West and head through Woodside toward the hills.
Follow 84 to the top of the hill at the 4 way intersection.
Turn right on Skyline/35 heading North for about 4 miles.
Please remember to wear a helmet, bring water, and check that your bike is ready to ride. Also remember to carry an extra tube and a chain master link with you that fits your bike. Its ok if you need help to repair it, you will have the items needed to keep your ride going.
