This will be intermediate level group ride in the wooded single-track paradise known as El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve (commonly called Skegg's Point after the CalTrans scenic overlook/parking lot that is adjacent to it) in Woodside, Ca. We will meet at 10:00 AM & leave from the "scenic" parking lot.
Tires roll at 10:15 AM or sooner if all YES RSVP's are present. This means if your a "Maybe" RSVP, please be there by the meet time, we don't want to leave without you! There may be some parking on the side of the road at the trailhead, however the parking lot will have many more. I plan to park at the scenic lot and ride down the road to the trailhead. Difficulty: Difficult; challenging climbs; technical singletrack with rocks, drops, ruts, & roots. Trail surface: 60 percent singletrack, 40 percent dirt road. Best to ride in summer when trails are dry and has lots of shade. Plan to ride 8 - 10 miles, 2 -3 hours? Directions:
Meet at the parking lot near the Skeggs Point entrance. You may see cars parked on the roadside at various spots, but where we're meeting is a real parking lot. Please note that if you're coming from the north, the parking lot is on the left and you cannot legally turn there. You will need to go down a bit further and carve a U-turn where there is a pullout. ***Please remember, a helmet is required for all our rides.***
