CCCX Cross Country Race

  • Mar 8, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

Wanna try racing?  If you are in good condition,  I encourage you to give racing a try.  There is a difference between a group ride and a race.  A race is much, much faster.

This will be an Advanced ride with a blistering, punishing pace.

Distance: 15 miles - For Category 3.  20 miles for Category 2 racers.  If you are Category 1, well you will be there anyway.

Riding time: 1+ hours

Difficulty trail rating: 2  - Judging from the last race, the trails are not difficult.  There are some turns that you need to do fast.  There may be fairly small drops or jumps.

Stamina rating: 3+ - 15 miles on a mountain bike is a lot.

Pace rating: 5- This is racing, baby.

Tires roll at 9:00 for Cat 3.  They will leave without you

Directions: See the CCCX website for directions.

I suggest getting there an hour before your race time.  I did not last time, so I couldn't preview the course.

You will need a racing license to race (you can buy a 1 day license there).  They charge a $40 entry fee.

Please consult the CCCX website for full information:
