With all the rides shut down because of the rain, maybe head over to Wilder for some trail work? What else are you going to do?
With spring right around the corner, let's get out there so the mountain bike trails are ready.
Hooray for rain! Finally, the trails should be soft enough for real dirt work.
Please join us this Saturday, March 1st, for our regular monthly trailwork day at Wilder Ranch State Park. We will meet in the main parking lot at 10:00 AM. Let the person at the entry kiosk know that you're volunteering to work on the trails and you can park for free. Following signups, introductions, and a quick safety talk for new volunteers, we'll gather tools and head out to work on the park trails.
Plan on working until around 2:00PM or so. Sturdy boots, hat, gloves, long pants, a long sleeved shirt, and rain gear are highly recommended. We will probably be working on drainage on Old Cabins. And you can probably count on getting your boots wet and muddy even if the rain lets up by the time we start. Long and short handled tools will be provided.
Please sign up online to let us know you'll be joining us. It helps us plan the workday. Looking forward to working with you at Wilder this Saturday!
Meet at 10:00 AM in the main parking lot.
Where: Wilder Ranch State Park, Hwy 1, just north of Santa Cruz.
