This will be the first ride of two planned for the weekend. Some of us will head to Downieville for a Sunday ride and others may head home after. Please be sure and plan ahead if you are doing both to find a place to stay. The drive to Downieville from here is about 110 miles.
RSVP priority will be given to members that are also doing the Downieville ride the next morning. If you are not doing Downieville, you may still sign up if room allows..
This is 9+ miles of 100% single track trails meandering through the beautiful Pines and Cedar trees. It is not overly challenging and well suited for intermediate level riders (not a beginner level ride). Their are a few technical sections. There is a fair amount of climbing (about 1500 ft), all of which earns you some fun and fast descents. The trail is well maintained and marked. The trail has a nice flowy, rolling feel that makes you want to come back to see if you can do it faster. This may be a LEVEL 3 ride.
Pollock Pines is just a 2.5-3 hour drive from San Jose area, before you know it your there and this ride is worth it. (SEE MAPS BELOW). Do not drive to the lake resort boat launch area, pass it and turn left on Mormon Immigrant trail rd. Tires roll at 11:44 AM.
PARKING - Once on Mormon Immigrant Trail road, the lake will be on your left, Park on the right side of the road just after the 2nd damn (if you start heading up and up and dont see the lake, you went to far.
The Ride - Depending on the size of the group and rider ability, we can ride the 9 mile loop or the 15 mile loop.
Post ride lunch. After the ride we can head over to the local restaurant pub before heading back home or onto Downieville.
Remember, all riders need to be members of Meetup.com & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guests are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.
