I did reach out to the folks at Annadel Mountain Biking Group for some help at this new location. I thought maybe a few members could show us around, no response. So, I will do what we have done before, Let's Explore and have fun.

I plan to park just pass the Ranger station in the pay lot. This is a State Park, and as in Wilder I think we should all pay the fee to enjoy the park system.

Plan to meet in the in the pay lot should you park on Channel Drive.

Location - Directions

The park is east of Santa Rosa and south of Highway 12 on Channel Drive via Montgomery Drive. 6201 Channel Drive Santa Rosa, California, 95409
Latitude/Longitude:[masked] / [masked]

If your not sure where you are going or think you will be late, please leave earlier. It is not fair to have everyone else wait while you get ready to ride. Bring a spare tube and master link?

***Please remember, a helmet is required for all our rides.***

Enjoyed the ride and company very much, though trails were rocky and challenging for me.
    Thanks Ray

Fantastic ride! Based on past descriptions I was expecting hot rock gardens but in fact there is just a ton of great single track through the forest. Sure there are rocks (and a lot of them), but they are spread out and offer good, surmountable challenges. On this particular day the scenery, greenery and wildflowers were just unequalled.

And here we thought you were just a dancing bear ...

Thanks to being shaped by Mel Brookes' sense of humor as a young person, the "dancing bear" is only a natural progression. :)

What a great place to ride. We had an awesome 19 mile ride around the park. This place is much better than I had heard about. Everyone that changed your mind about going missed out on a very nice day up north. We will be back there again. Let's Ride!

Annandale definitely gets two thumbs up! The combination of fun, fast, challenging trails, beautiful scenery, and great company made for an excellent day of riding. Thanks Ray and Michelle for making this ride possible. It gets my vote for a repeat destination!

Epic ride! Annadel, while challenging, wasn't the hot, endless rock garden I had perceived it to be. Rocky, yes, but the climbs weren't awful, the views were gorgeous, and there was a surprising amount of shady, smooth singletrack. North Burma and South Burma were awesome. Happy to have a great day on the bike, with the nicest people around. Ray did a great job getting us around the park. A very successful first ride at Annadel for SBMBG. :-)

Less we not forget that we also enjoyed a brief circus performance featuring Ray's dare devil technical riding team with a dancing bear.

Perfect time of the year to ride this park and as usual, riding with Ray and this MeetUp group's members makes for a fun day.

Seems like every new park we explore becomes my new favorite. This was no exception. Technical but fun climbs and descents. Amazing scenery. Great company.

The perfect combination of rocky challenge and smooth-flowing fun, definitely worth the long drive. Thanks Ray and Michelle!

I had a great time. Thanks again Ray for leading a fun ride. The best parts were riding with both hands on grips -- not photographable. Both up and down seemed staggering with all those weird giant river rocks, but we all conquered it. Here's the GPS track http://ridewithgps.com/trips/1272970 (they use elevations from topo map instead of from user uploads)

Sadly I can't make it due to last minute schedule conflicts. Have a great ride.

This is a LONG drive. I've got room for one more, or does anyone have a SUV that fits one more?

    March 27, 2013

    • tekster

I still have room for one more, but i can't stay afterward for beer. Ping me if you want to carpool.

Given that we'll be so far north (are the days longer up there?), I'm planning to pop into Russian River Brewing or Lagunitas afterwards. I'm sure I don't need to twist many arms to find a few joiners.

Ok, the parking fee is $7 at the end of Channel Dr. This will also be the meeting point. See you all there.

I enjoy exploring (never been there before), and I'm looking forward to it! Here's the state park website I found http://www.parks.ca.g... which links to the park brochure, which has a trail map, which shows three parking possibilities once you get on Channel Drive. The first is actually a right turn onto Violetti Road and goes to the Spring Lake parking lot where there's a day-use fee. The second spot is halfway along Channel Drive (where the above meetup link points you) with lots of unmarked spaces a trailhead sign but no toilet facilities. The third is at the end of Channel Drive showing facilities but not a ranger station. Or is that a ranger station? Are we meeting at this far end spot (trailhead to Warren Richardson Trail)?

Had to amend my rsvp, as I have a time-constraint conflict that will make annadel (this time) too much of a stretch - have a great day & wkd, everyone!

I haven't been riding in 3 weeks. How difficult is it there? Is anyone interested in carpooling from Mountain View?

    April 21, 2013

    • Daphne C

I'm interested in carpooling from MV/south bay. Don't have a bike rack, and so I'll chip in the gas.

Same weekend as SeaOtter, something's gotta give?

    December 17, 2012

    • Diane

okay, so Ray with his super-santa powers gets SeaOtter moved to April 28th, who's taking bets?

      1 · December 17, 2012

    • E

Sea Otter runs 4 days. Unless you have a specific event or want to hang out with the group on Sat, you can try commuting between locations. But that requires 6+ hrs of driving.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
