Saratoga Gap (Casual Pace)

Let's Ride!

We will meet at 9:30 AM in the parking lot at the corner of Highway 9 and Skyline Blvd.

Tires roll at 9:40 AM or sooner if all "Yes" RSVPs have arrived. Please be there by the meet time. We will leave without you. This is a fun place to ride with great views and awesome trails. You have read the past ride reviews, this is a fun group!!! As always, we will never leave anyone behind, take needed breaks, and regroup often.

Ride Details Difficulty as noted in my Mtn Biking guide book is: "Moderate, modest climbing - nothing long. Ragged singletrack requires skill, steep desent not for the timid." On my scale of 1-5, 1 being easy - I will say this may be a level 3 in places. A bit tougher than Russian Ridge.

From Palo Alto: Page Mill Road to Skyline Blvd. Turn left onto Skyline Blvd. Follow this south until the stop sign at highway 9. The parking lot is on the left after you cross the intersection.

From Soutbay area: Saratoga Blvd through Saratoga, it becomes Highway 9 uphill toward Skyline Blvd. At the stop sign at Skyline Blvd. turn left and into the parking lot on the left.

If your not sure where you are going or think you will be late, please leave earlier. It is not fair to have everyone else wait while you get ready to ride.

Please remember to wear a helmet, bring water, and check that your bike is ready to ride. Also remember to carry an extra tube and a chain master link with you that fits your bike. Its ok if you need help to repair it, you will have the items needed to keep your ride going.

Remember, all riders need to be members of & South Bay Mountain Bike Group. Guest are no longer allowed. All riders need to RSVP as a member.

I have a Tachyon 3.0 Is this a good bike for this route? I usally do the loop of Stevens creek, moffet field, baylands and then the guadalupe trails which dont have much bumps or rocks.

this trail has some good single track,a few rocks and a couple of root sections. I am not familiar with that exact bike. I would recommend at minimum front suspension however it is really using what you are comfortable riding as i am not planning on blasting through this ride.
