Lughnasadh

  • July 27, 2013 · 3:00 PM

Hello and Merry Meet

We are a cross-tradition gathering of Pagan families with children who meet monthly to celebrate the Esbats and Sabbats; to share food and music, traditions and knowledge, crafts and dancing. We are eclectic Wicca, Druid, Dianic, British Traditionalists, and are open to and looking for more varieties. We seek to share and learn from each other while providing support in a fun and nurturing environment.

Please join us in our Lughnasadh / Lamas ritual. We'll share songs, do crafts, play games, have races, and enjoy Lughnasadh!

What to bring: A potluck dish to share. Please consider bringing a suggested donation of 5 - 10 dollars per person and/or 10 to 20 dollars per family.

Blessed Be,
Taffy

Sarah, I hope you read this. I wanted to bump up our conversation so we wouldn't be replying to Elijah's post, causing his account to get every message.

What are we planning to do in our circle this time, or what do we normally do? If you tell me your concerns, I can better answer your question.

Tomorrow we're celebrating Lughnasadh - the Celtic name. The Anglo-Saxons, and those who don't feel like saying/spelling Lughnasadh, call it Lamas.

I have to work on saturday till at least noon, and I don't want to stand anyone up if I wind up having to work longer.

Hi everyone. Tomorrow is going to be fun. Please remember to bring 5 small toys for your child to find. Tabatha is going to use them in the scavenger hunt. So while she does that, we'll be making loaf people. Please bring seeds/nuts for eyes and buttons. http://paganwiccan.about.com/od/lammascooking/ss/LammasBread.htm

For pot luck, many have asked for vegan fare. You don't have to bring vegan food but, it's nice when everyone can share in the food.

Water sign - please bring drinks
Earth sign - please bring dessert /fruit
Fire - please bring protein / main dish
Air - please bring grains / side dish

    BB,
    Taffy

To those not on our Yahoo group, this was posted by Tabs "Taffy wants a scavenger hunt.
So I volunteered to organize this game.
Would each of you bring 5 toys for each child. I figure they can be small toys like McDonalds toy size or smaller, that you already have and own. So the child can help identify their toys :)"

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
