Let's meet for coffee, etcetera, and talk about photography. This month's topic will be Exposure.
Arriving at the best exposure for a photo is part science and part art. Understanding exposure will help us expand our artistic options and build of understanding of shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and all other critical exposure practices. A good photographer must have or develop an "exposure strategy" that will effectively maneuver light in any shooting situation. Some of the topics we can explore as a group are:
- What is exposure?
- Exploring camera modes
- Light metering
- Shooting sharp images
- Controlling shutter speed
- Understanding f-stops
- Controlling motion
- Working with a shallow depth of field
- Measuring aperture
- Shooting in low light conditions
- Performing manual light balance
- Working with the histogram
- Using fill flash
- Understanding reciprocity
I'll bring printed copies of the listed topics. We can choose which ones to discuss as a group.
Hope you to see there!
