South Bay Queens of Our Own Lives

"Queen of Your Own Life is a philosophy, a decision and an invitation to happiness for women who have made the tough but rewarding journey to the midpoint in their lives." Kathy Kinney (aka Mimi on Drew Carey) and Cindy Ratzlaff (marketeer extraordinaire of South Beach Diet fame) wrote that about proclaiming your life worthwhile. Not some stylized, oh-my-god-i-have-to-be-like-that life (i.e. young, quiet, and naive). Your life, comfortably and confidently lived in your own skin - just the way you want to live it!

So at 43, I'm crowning myself Queen of My Own Life. I'm shining a positive light on the qualitites, characteristics, people, hobbies, and experiences that bring joy- and putting them center stage as often as possible. And I'm weeding out the ones that bring nothing more than a world of hurt. I'm making a list, and checking it twice, but this one's got nothing to do with naughty or nice! It's about building the life I've always wanted, but was too afraid/insecure/etc to try.

And nothing beats the support (and giggles) of a few like-minded women to move those plans from dream to reality. We can get together over coffee, share a meal, or journey afar...wherever our interests take us. All of us, some of us, two of us, or even just one of us! As someone once said, I've got a lot of life left in me! Won't you join me in living it?!
