The end of summer is here and we’re going to celebrate with a great wine tasting party. Members, Victoria & Sam will be opening their home in Torrance for an “End of Summer Shiraz Party”. It will be a great evening.
Syrah or Shiraz is a dark-skinned grape grown throughout the world and used primarily to produce red wine. Syrah is used as a varietal and is also blended. Following several years of strong planting, Syrah was estimated in 2004 to be the world's 7th most grown grape. The Syrah grape is native to the Rhone Valley in France. However, it is the most widely planted red wine grape in Australia and is now more commonly known as an Australian grape. It grows in the Barossa Valley, the McLaren Vale and Hunter Valley.
In America, it is most commonly grown in California, Oregon and Washington.
We will enjoy this evening of wines in Victoria’s and Sam’s outdoor patio which has a pool, Jacuzzi and BBQ. Bring your swimsuit and towel. Please bring (guests included) either a bottle of Shiraz, Syrah or Petit Sirah (minimum $15) and a heavy appetizer enough for 20 persons. These wines do well with hearty foods such as beef and spicy foods such as Mexican & India. Please bring your own wine glass. We will provide the desserts.
When you RSVP, please state the name of the Shiraz, Syrah or Petit Sirah you & your guest (if you are bringing a guest) are bringing to the party.
This fun party is limited to 28, so if you RSVP “Yes” and your plans change, please update your RSVP accordingly. NO MAYBES.
Victoria & Sam’s address, directions and phone number will be provided a day before (8/27) to those who RSVP “Going”.
Look forward to seeing you there!
There is street parking. The wine tasting party ends at about 8:30 PM. Look forward to seeing you there!
