Happy New Year! We’ll be kicking off the New Year with a fun wine tasting at a new venue for our group, Barsha Wines & Spirits in Manhattan Beach (perhaps some of you have already stopped by).
Barsha is a boutique wine shop that delivers artisanal wines, spirits, beers, and fine international products supporting small producers that focus on high quality and good value. In addition to their extensive wine and spirits collection, their tasting room offers over 30 wines by the glass with a farmers market driven menu that highlights Californian cuisine with a touch of Tunisia. Owners Lenora and Adnen Marouani met when they were chefs at the Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas. Their paths crossed when spinach came into the mix, and the rest is history! (When you see them, ask them about the spinach story!) They expanded their knowledge in wines thru their travels in Europe and Tunisia (where Adnen is originally from). Back in the states Adnen served as sommelier to a number of restaurants in L.A. and Lenora as chef. After owning restaurants in the past, Adnen & Lenora gave birth to the creation of Barsha!
Barsha’s Sip & Shop features unlimited tastings of a fine selection of over 25 wines (California and from around the world) accompanied with light appetizers, fine cheeses and charcuterie. There will also be local vendors showcasing their products including Deep Pocket Jean Company, Marsatta Gourmet Chocolates, Oliovera Olive Oil, Strange Love Handmade Jewelry and more. The wines and products from the local vendors will be available for purchase at much discounted prices.
The cost to attend this fabulous evening is $25 plus $1.62 processing fee that includes the wine tasting and appetizers. You can purchase your tickets online at http://www.eventbrite.com/event/5077432738/es2/?rank=1#. Here’s a chance to taste a great selection of wines and savory appetizers and support local vendors. It is recommended that you purchase your tickets soon as this event is limited to 50 attendees.
There is a number parking spaces at Barsha. There is also free parking behind Barsha’s at the Post Office and street parking on side streets. Please read the signs for any parking restrictions. The wine tasting ends at about 8 p.m.
Hope to see you there.
