Murder at the Midnight Hour - A Murder Mystery Party Game by SimpliFun Studios

From company website:

"Mr. Henry Hogget & Mrs. Abigail Windsor cordially invite you to attend the midnight wedding of Jewel Opal Hogget To Roger Quinton Windsor On December 31st, 1969. Weddings are usually such groovy occasions. Unfortunately, this one will be the exception to the rule. This one will be DEADLY."

THE YEAR: 1969

Just like we used to do before getting on Meetup, Bo, Heather, Q and a few key others will welcome new and old players to enjoy a night of rip-roaring fun as each person tries to reach their goals and discover the murderer.

Food: Dinner will be buffet style - We will contact the guests to iron this out as we get closer to the date.

Costumes: Most, if not all, will be in costume.

Awards: Usually given to best costume and best player/detective.

  • Please be sure that you can attend when accepting. It makes it real hard on the rest of the party when the murderer cancels...
  • We will be taking a waiting list in case we have cancellations (life does happen).
  • If you are on the waiting list, you might be invited anyway. Sometimes there is a last minute cancellation and if not you might enjoy meeting the people and observing some of what is going on ...

Also check out our upcoming page for a list of semi-planned future meetups...

Lastly, donations for buying future murder party games are always welcome... ;)

Is costuming still encouraged for this format?

    • Bo

      Hey Bob,

Nice to hear from you. Yes, we try to both costume and be in character for any and all of these games. I even have a spattering of non-murder freeform role-playing games that I have/plan to schedule in here. The same would apply for those. It was great meeting and chatting with you both after the game Saturday. Cheers

It is different from the other Murder Parties this group normally runs. In this one the entire game is done sitting around a table, in character, and normally the single goal of the group is to determine who the murderer is. There is little to no "Live Action" in a game of this type, and rarely does each character have a lot of secondary goals, but it provides a less demanding experience for the gamers.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
