Updated Date:Murder at the North Pole - A Christmas Game of Murder & Mayhem

  • December 8, 2012 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

FYI-We will need at least 10 to pull this off...

Info:Christmas Day Night. The big present delivery is finally over, and Father and Mrs Christmas are holding a party to thank all the staff for their hard work. There will be balloons, dancing and an ice sculptored sleigh full of presents for everyone. Guest of honour will be Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, who is celebrating his 5th year of leading Santa's sleigh.

But before the party can begin, a body is found. The Ice Sculptor who made the sleigh is found murdered. His skull smashed in by a brutal blow from behind. And it turns out that one member of Christmas Land is a cold blooded and heartless killer...

Just like our last two Meetups, Heather, Bo, and a few key others will welcome new and old players to enjoy a night of rip-roaring fun as each person tries to reach their goals and discover the murderer.

Food: Dinner will be buffet style. Heather will be contacting attendees directly regarding our food plans for the meetup.

Costumes: Most, if not all, will be in costume.

Awards: Usually given to best costume and best player/detective.

Notes:

  • Please be sure that you can attend when accepting. It makes it real hard on the rest of the party when the murderer cancels...
  • We will be taking a waiting list in case we have cancellations (life does happen).
  • If you are on the waiting list, you might be invited anyway. Sometimes there is a last minute cancellation and if not you might enjoy meeting the people and observing some of what is going on ...

Also check out our upcoming page for a list of semi-planned future meetups...

Great time as usual! I am the odd one out, as I like the scripted games better, since I am not great with ad lib humor :)

I was sure the killer was Tubby but they besmirched Blixen with their scenario instead! Good fun. I thought the scenario was much better than the Halloween one, but Four Deuces is still the champ!

I had a great time. It was a lot of fun meeting new people and being part of a great event of this style of game play. Thanks again!

Thanks Heather and Allen for hosting again and for everyone welcoming me to this event. I had a great time and am looking forward to the events to follow in 2013. Have a happy holiday everyone.

Thanks Heather and Allen for hosting once again. Great food & fun as always. Like Deb, I like the free-form better, but this script was very funny and entertaining!

Great company, wonderful food (thanks for making the stew Heather!), and a well organized game. I prefer the more free-form, adlib games.

On my way, not in costume, could not get a chance to get anything but I am driving a red Chevy Cobalt, my #3035137273. I should be there by 6pm. Thanks!!

OK now for the food announcements! As always we will have wine, beer and iced tea but if you feel like bringing anything special you are always welcome to do so :) I ordered by roast from Snowcreek Ranch so I will be making a hunter's stew. So please post here what appetizer you will bring :)

We are at the critical juncture for the Christmas meetup. We are short two people and if we can't fill those spots, we will have to postpone. Let me know ASAP if you can dig up 2 folks to attend this weekend, if not send me a message or post to the board what alternative date would work for you. If we need to postpone, can you all make it next week (December 8)?

    Let me know ASAP...

Thanks to you all for your continued support. You folks rock.

    Cheers Bo

Hi all - Christy and I won't be able to make it - we have a memorial service to attend in Texas on December 1st. Eric was going to carpool with us, so he has cancelled as well. Really sorry for the fairly late notice but we will see you all at Midnight Hour for sure!

Bummer, but completely understandable. I am sorry for your loss :(

Also, I know it's early to discuss food but I am tentatively planning on making my French Beef Stew if I am able to get a hold of a country roast prior to the party.

Do we need costumes? If so what would you recommend.

I will send out character announcements in the next week. Most of the characters are elves or reindeer. You could go as elaborate as you like (and this group is pretty imaginative and elaborate), or you could do some reindeer ears or elf ears.
