Mt Warning Rainforest Holiday Park - Anzac Day Weekend 2014

Nestled in the rainforest, right at the foot of Mt Warning and only an hours drive from the world famous beaches of the Gold Coast and Byron Bay, you’ll find Mt Warning Rainforest Park.

The Park is situated at the entrance to the World Heritage Listed Mt Warning National Park, or Wollumbin, as the original inhabitants of the land call the mountain.

Wake up early and view the spectacular sunrise from the top of Mt Warning or simply relax and take a dip in a mountain stream, Mt Warning Rainforest Park is the closest thing you’ll find to camping in the wilderness with the choice of a private Riverside Cabin or a night under the stars by your own camp fire.

For the perfect break from city life, or if you are looking for a relaxing base to explore the area from the Gold Coast to Byron Bay, Mt Warning Rainforest Park offers the chance to take a breath of fresh air, reconnect with nature and unwind while enjoying all the comforts the park has to offer.

The magical and unique experience that is the Mt Warning Rainforest Park can be enjoyed by families, friends and couples from Australia and around the world.

Be the first in Australia to see the sunrise.

Cost : $25/night for 2 adults.

Dog friendly park.  Please be aware, according to the park map, that only half the park is dog friendly.  The Wilderness side is not dog friendly.

Hi all. What a top weekend. Had a ball with a great bunch of people in a magic place. The walk was certainly a highlight and character building experience. Thanks Martine for the idea hope your birthday was everything you expected it to be. I need to thank Martine Margaret and Steve for the sustenance that gave me the energy to get back down. What a top achievement from Soraya who fought on to get there. Thanks Robyn for the weekend. Something I will cherish. Look forward to the next one. Anyone with photos at the top can you email me [masked]. My calves are still screaming. All the best. Warwick. :-))

I'd love to take my daughter on a couple of the shorter tracks :) we're heading down Thursday night.. see you all soon!

    April 23, 2014

  • Robyn

I personally will not be climbing Mt Warning although I believe there are shorter easier walks to be done, which I will be doing. I have bad feet so Mt Warning is too much for me at the moment. It seems there are walks for all levels.

    April 22, 2014

I'm in. For me Its what a trip to mt warning is all about.

The weather forecast for our weekend away is good - temps low of 15-17 up to 26 degrees. Maybe only maybe the chance of a shower Saturday. Will be nice around the fire.
If anyone has any wood please bring it or if we have to pay for wood we will all need to contribute to the cost. Cheers, Robyn :o)

    April 14, 2014

  • Robyn

Hi everyone, although Carol did originally say that she asked if we could now pay a deposit. The original plan was that everyone would pay a one night deposit, however Mark didn't do it and then Carol didn't. It would be appreciated if everyone could pay a deposit. Gives the park some surety that people who book will turn up. If you call again after today and they don't take a deposit then it is their risk.

I've only got a mini cooker ( for coffee) is there BBQ or somewhere to buy food?

    April 13, 2014

    • Robyn

HI Sue, There is a camp kitchen and a shop near the office.

      1 · April 13, 2014

  • Lyn H

Hi Campers, we booked online, ok if you have a credit card. We're in the non powered area as we want to test out our solar panels. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

    April 13, 2014

  • Robyn

Ok I have called the park. Mark is on 4 months leave and Carol has taken over.
    Clarification:
Deposit: Carol has asked if all those who have booked and who intend to book, can you please pay one night deposit asap before 25/4. $25.00 per site.
Camp sites: 1. Are marked out in that they have a power pole in the middle of four sites.
    2. Not big enough for 2 small tents but can fit a family size tent - what she meant was each site has to fit your tent and your car. So if you have two tents you would probably have two cars and they will not fit. So one car per site, other vehicles have to be parked near the camp kitchen.
    3. Asked how big the sites are however didn't get told. I have never been there but I'm sure they are not tiny sites. So if you tent is a little massive it should be okay as there are no lines to cross.

    2 · April 13, 2014

    • Steve M

Hi Robyn, I've rung Carol and she's putting us in a unpowered site behind The powered sites close to seq campers.because of the site I'm on Carol is happy for me to pay on arrival. See you all there :)

      A former member

Hi Robyn, she also told me I could pay on arrival and gave me site 17. What shall I do?

      April 13, 2014

  • Deb

I also called and she said I was booked but need to pay when I arrive. Bina and I are sharing a site will have to leave her car camp kitchen. Sounds great.

    April 13, 2014

  • Robyn

The RSVP list says 39 going, which is great. However even with most people stating plus 1 that is nearly 20 and they don't have anywhere near that many bookings.
So if you haven't booked get in quick and if you have booked and not paid a deposit can you please call Carol and pay $25 as soon as possible.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there. It is going to be a fabulous low key relaxed weekend. Don't forget the vino and the marshmallows for around the fire. Awesome....
I'm sure it will all work out and we will have plenty of room for tents, we might just have to put some cars somewhere else. No drama.

    Cheers,
    Robyn.. :o)

I will give them a call over the next few days and get a more clear message from Mark. Will let you all know when I do.

    1 · April 8, 2014

  • Deb

Booked and ready to go ps just spoke to them they said not big enough for two two man tents but should be good for the family size tent.

    March 23, 2014

    • Robyn

Hi Deb, that seems weird that they said not big enough for 2 x 2 man tents (which are small) however good for a family size tent? Doesn't make sense to me. Especially since Mark has said there are no marked out sites just a very large grass area from the road up to the trees. Cheers, Robyn

On the map the sites are marked. I have number 17

      April 7, 2014

  • Deb

If the sites are powered how are there not marked out sites.

    1 · April 7, 2014

  • Deb

Yes I'm a little stumped myself I was coming with a friend first and asked if we could share a site and they said not big enough for two. But another friend wanted to come asked for a site they said there was none but she could share mine. I'm stumped

    1 · April 7, 2014

  • Sarah S.

How big are the camp sites, as our tent is rather massive..lol

    March 23, 2014

    • Robyn

Hi Sarah, according to Mark at the park, there are no lined out sites in the area we are booked in. And we have up to the trees? I have never been there so I am not familiar with the layout but apparently it is a large area. See you there.

    March 22, 2014

    • Robyn

Hi Sue, Site 17 is in the same area and right next to our sites. I guess we outgrew the original area and they have had to expand us. If you look at the map you will see you are right next to the original booking of sites 7-14. Cheers, Robyn
