Walk around the Devil's Punchbowl near Hindhead

Lets hit the First Day Of Summer with a walk!

Lots of myth, history and stories surround the Devil's Punchbowl and why it exists. Maybe you believe the devil scooped out the hole in anger or maybe you believe its caused by erosion from sping water beneath the sandstone - who knows! Whichever, this is a beautiful area with high protection from development due to the biodiversity and unusual species. We will walk around the Punchbowl which is about 8 miles starting from the car park near Hindhead where we will meet in the cafe.

The walk is about 8 miles and is of low/medium difficulty.

Dont forget to bring:

- Money for parking

-Money for the cafe or a packed lunch

- Good walking boots

- As usual please put contact details for your family in your pocket (just in case a medic needs to find it) with any allergies / meds you have.

- a smile

Looking forward to seeing you all - and it will be the first day of summer - wooohooo!!

Hi Terena, I would love to come on part of the walk, would that be okay with you? My knees are not up for 8 miles any longer dammit! Looking at the OS map there are several routes to shorten it, or I may simply walk back along the same route. Could you let me know how you feel about that?
    Jill.

Heidi-Rose - Great you are coming to this! I am just wishing that Gary was here as I have a lamb that is struggling very hard - he would revive it - he was a magician with lambs!
