Traditional West African Drum Ensemble Class with Michael Pluznick

Michael Pluznick will be here offering an 8 week course in how to play your djembe. "By learning and understanding traditional West African drumming and drum arrangements from Guinea, Mali and Senegal, the places the djembe comes from, we can better understand how to apply the djembe in drum circles, modern music with friends or in an ensemble here in USA". We will also be working on and playing group and ensemble arrangements. Focus will be on solo techniques, phrasing (how to talk on the drum) and ways to help you develop your own creative solo technique and chops to tell your own story when you are playing the djembe in any situation. Michael will also be offering private lessons while he is in Florida. Michael Pluznick has been studying, performing, recording and teaching hand drumming from the West African diaspora around the globe for over 35 years. He brings a unique approach to helping others learn to play and is a patient and very giving teacher. Please check out his website: www.michaelpluznick.com, youtube channel: michaelpluznick and Facebook group page, Djembe Drum.

Hi All! I'm going to miss this Monday's class. I hate driving on holidays -- I'm coming from Port St. Lucie -- and this one is usually bad so will stick closer to home. l think we have one more class so will see you next week. Sorry to miss and hope you have a blast.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
