A cooperative (also co-operative or coöperative; often referred to as a co-op or coop) is defined by the International Co-operative Alliance's Statement on the Co-operative Identity as an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social, and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly-owned and democratically-controlled enterprise. A cooperative may also be defined as a business owned and controlled equally by the people who use its services or who work at it.
The purpose of the South Florida Independent Film Cooperative is to bring together a group of independent film makers, actors, writers, musicians... anyone involved in or who wants to be involved in the local independent film industry with the goal of filming low budget, high quality independent movie that we can all say we're proud to have been involved in. So far we have filmed a dramatic short film, a commercial contest entry, and two concerts. We have several ideas on the table, including web based series, documentaries and more films both short and feature.
If you'd like to get involved, contact me and let's make a movie!
