Sunday in the Park with a Skate and Live Jazz Brunch

Join with the  Friends of Birch State Park and assist with a cleanup of the park. Admission to the park is free after you volunteer to help clean up a water stop during the Publix A1A Marathon. Just tell the park ranger at the park’s entrance you are a cleanup volunteer.

After the cleanup is finished you can take some laps around the park’s smooth 1.8 mile path. Skate as fast or as slow as you want. Then join the Friends of Birch State Park for the first presentation of a Jazz Brunch in the Park at noon.

You supply your own style picnic while Birch State Park supplies the swing with The Mari Bell Trio, featuring Tony Rao with their New Orleans, Swing and Latin style jazz presentation. By way of introduction; Mari is on piano, Jeff Babick, on drums, vocalist Tony Rao, & Juan Navidad, on bass and trumpet, and all have performed extensively with top jazz artists up & down the east coast.

In addition to your special picnic, bring chairs, blankets and refreshments and join other music lovers. Make a day of it and enjoy all that the park has to offer: scenic Intracoastal views, wooded paths, beach access, canoes, more skating and all that jazz!

Admission for non-volunteers to the Jazz Brunch is $2.00 person (does not include park admission)

The clean up part should take less than an hour.
Birch Skate Park is a really great place to skate. It has a smooth 1.9 mile trail and coupled with the Jazz Brunch makes for a perfect day.
