This event is open to ALL South Florida core and front-end devs. We also welcome other groups to come join us from Wordpress, Drupal. The more the merrier.
Developers, this is a great way for beginning developers (even students) to learn the ropes, as well as a way for advanced developers to enhance their skills while creating apps and mashups using various APIs or maybe even from scratch without using an API.
At the end of the day, teams and/or individuals get to present their work to a panel of judges and win kickass prizes.
There will also be raffles throughout the day for T-shirts and other items.
If you are a company and want to sponsor, and/or allow developers to create apps using your API, please contact us.
This meetup will be altered to be more updated as each date gets closer. But basically we are thinking:

We had an excellent and challenging time at the Hackathon, it's go to know that more of these are coming. Thanks to Adam for being such a great host and Ricardo from Plantronics for his patience with us hackers. See you in the next one!!!

Adam Culp brought together a talented group if coders and designers in a great space, and creativity happened. And Ricardo DeAndrade of Plantronics supplied some great toys (along with expertise in their SDK), and helped me to think about headsets in a whole new way. Thus, the inaugural SoFlaPHP Miami Hack-a-thon was a marvelous way to spend a Saturday, and a productive opportunity to meet talented coders, expert evangelists, and new technologies.

Hey I am super new to PHP. I have done a bit of python dev work, but otherwise very green.
Let me know if your group can take on someone like me.
