Where can I find..?

There is a massive amount of incredible information available to help us with programming for Windows 8 and Windows RT. At this meeting, we start to organize those resources.  Your dedicated organizers will be busy throughout the holiday season, amassing an list of our favorites, but we don't know about everything that's out there.  So bring your favorite links to videos, tutorials, design guidelines and/or anything else you think would help your fellow programmers.  The information that we will gather, will be posted on our group website, sfla.betterthan7.net.

Hi. Is any of you guys doing any Windows C/C++ with Windows 8. Mixing Win32 API with WinRT. The upcoming book from Petzold while primary written for C# will also have the code in C++. While some areas can benefit of Managed languages, I think the use of un-managed languages can have more benefit in the long run. It will be interested to see how can we use C++/CX. There is also a book coming out for C++/CX.

What are you guys planning to talk about during the meeting?

Thanks for the reply. C++ Goes beyond games. All the critical applications, all the important application are written in C++... Here is a great video why C++ : http://channel9.msdn.... I think it may serve in the long run to do C++. I recently was with BJarne, and he was clear in the roles of C++ of Python, but not quite sure about C#,Java. Anyways, I think is great that you have a Windows 8 group. I have done C#, but when I have the choice, I always prefer pure win32 in Windows with a mixed of C++ (and C++11 now)
