Introduction

I would love to get the chance to socialize with other people who know how special it is own a Bernese Mountain Dog.

What Nicole Overbey is saying about this Meetup Group

Others should join the group for the pure pleasure of seeing how much joy your dog gets from interacting with other dogs. The other women in the group were super friendly and made me feel very welcome. I liked the meet up site also. The dogs could be off leash and that is important for me. My St. Bernard crashed the party and she really enjoyed playing in the lake.

  • Hi Nicole I found the info on Theresa I am going to talk to my husband when he gets home from work and see what he thinks. She sounds perfect. Are you still interested in looking at her also. Someone needs to get her she is really cute.

  • Thanks for asking. My wrist is almost back to normal. My pinky and two end knuckles are still swollen. The wounds are puffy but healing nicely. I had 3 deep ones and three punctures. They're still sore but I can do more with my hand now. My antibiotics will be done next Wed. The vet ok'd me taking Timber the Sunday to his breeder's Berner Halloween party in MD. I think I'll be able to "handle" it! ;)

  • Thanks Nicole and thanks to everybody for the well wishes. Timber is good and the doc says his meds need to be increased from one pill twice a day to 1 1/2 pills twice a day. No problems in the rest of his blood work either. My bite wounds look good but my hand/wrist is swollen from having the leash pulling on it as Timber tried to run away. That's going to take some time I think.

  • Hi Nicole--thanks, Rosie is doing better. We did take her to the beach yesterday -- it was her first time and fun for the family. Although, she was a little skittish and nervous around the water. She even barked at my husband in confusion. She's seemed a little out-of-sorts since she was spayed a few weeks ago. Do you find that Scout is pretty sensitive/easily spooked? Our other Bernese was frightened of thunderstorms. I'm hoping Rosie gets back her to herself. How is Scout doing?

  • I'm glad he's doing better. What meds do you have to give him and why? Longport was canceled so we went and visted my mom instead. She loves her granddog!

  • Hi Nicole, I had been away and off the site for a couple of weeks. I heard from Debbie about Scout's episode. How scary that must have been for you! Poor Scout! So glad to hear he is recovering so quickly. I have often heard about putting stringbeans in with the food to make them feel full.

  • Hi Nicole. Eileen sent me the info on the get together Sunday and the site for the group. Thanks so much for thinking of me. I've been yearning for a south Jersey BMD group for years. Hope to see you Sunday!
