I am a hearing ASL student at CCC. Learning sign language has been my dream since i was young. I feel so lucky to finally be able to learn ASL and soon be able to interact and be a part of the Deaf community.
It is great to hear your dreams are slowly coming true. ASL is a beautiful language. The more you expose yourself to the Deaf community the more you understand. When you meet a deaf person and become friends the more events you will find out. Networking. I try an travel to different places to gain exposure to different signing styles. I try and find different "Accents" in ASL. For example Pa signs are different than NJ signs. Compared to how a person from New Jersey talks to the way a New Yorker
