Following on from our Manchester walks, how about venturing a little further afield? I know that quite a few of you travel a fair distance to BITP meet ups, many from Cheshire, so I thought why not have a walk in Tatton as it's still only 40 minutes or so from MCR.
Tatton is absolutely beautiful in the summer, we've taken Merlies there on many a week-end and he's loved the big open spaces, woodlands and lakes. Dogs are welcome off leads here as long as they can be kept under control and have good recall. There are deer here occasionally but at our last visit there were only a few and Merlies just wasn't interested. Of course other dogs may be different but as long as owners are aware I wouldn't envisage any issues.
Tatton is massive and you could easily spend 3-4+ hours walking if you choose. Tracks and paths are clear and there are some nice cafés with outdoor seating where dogs are welcome near the Hall.
Parking is on Tatton Street in Knutsford and is free on Sundays. The park can then be accessed from the Knutsford Drive entrance at the end of Tatton Street. We'll meet here at 1pm, I will be there from 12.45pm and will hold on til around 1.15pm for any latecomers.
As we'd be pedestrians, there is no park entrance fee either. Bring some change as sometimes there is a mobile barista selling coffees, teas and cakes just before the park entrance :)
Hope to see you there!
