Sorry for getting back to you so late! No good excuse. Hope you've been having a great month and are practicing up! Any ideas, concerns, interest, etc, let me know and we'll try to make it happen within reason.
Re: Song choice for the upcoming Meetup:
There was no other overlap of song choice but Yellow Submarine. However, all the song choices are great! They came from you guys/ gals, and are your own choices for group songs, so of course they're great!
Mathematically, determining which songs will be a 'group song' for any given jam/ month is looking to be something of exponential proportion that is a bit confounding.
I will create a poll for everyone to vote on ONE song as a group song to sing/ play together out of the list everyone made. I'm using the first song people listed,
for convenience's sake. Typing in all the songs will take me all morning, and I've gotta get to the DMV before work this afternoon, so it's a one song vote for starters, thanks guys.
At each jam, we can vote on the remaining songs, and add any to the list if we want. The voted song can then become the one that we can all sing together as a group at the subsequent jam, and so on. (This is just an idea, too, folks, so if it drives 'ya nuts, we can ditch it).
If I get my 'stuff' together, I can upload files of all of the listed songs onto a document page so that people can download the songs before each month's jam.
As we go on, please do let me know what song you might like to add to the list, and we can provide docs on the site for others to access the music, so we can have a running 'library' of our songs we love and want to play together in this
Visit our poll section today! Thanks!
Is this for real? Well, yeah. It just sounds complicated. But it'll be cool, everyone getting to know songs others want to play, don't you think?
On another note, there's stuff going on tomorrow night!:
Jeannie Willets & Co. at Viva Cantina, OPEN MIC, too!
Also, I wanted to relay that one of our talented members, Ms. Jeannie Willets, will be performing at a local venue tomorrow night, at Viva Cantina, in Burbank, at 8 p.m. Every Tuesday night, Brian Patterson puts together a wonderful open mic, wherein he features an act for about a half hour set to start things off. Yes, there's Mexican food and Yes, their margaritas are great!
Open mic signups start at 7, so get in
early to sign up, if you're interested in doing so!
Another member of our group, Mr. Frank Spano, and myself, will be accompanying Jeannie on backup vocals.
Let's take over the place, what do you say? Lets get our 'Buddy Up mini groups to come show their stuff, eh?
900 W Riverside Dr
Open Daily 11am-12am
(Don't let the country thing dissuade you; it's a bonafide open mic, and the music is diverse enough, so don't be afraid!)
Don't forget to go to 'the poll section' at our site and vote for the top song you want for the next jam, k?
