To Those who have written to me,
I am overwhelmed with the words of kindness, support, and caring. I have responded personally to people, but just last night and plan on doing so as I am able...
I just wanted everyone to know how much I appreciate your empathy and sharing of your own experiences. I guess we're not all that different, are we.
If anyone has suggestions as to how to deal with this situation and/or how to prevent such things from occurring in the future, barring checking bags at the door like TSA agents, that would be great. Suggestions that come to mind in regard to the group as a whole actually can be made on the discussion page, and/or you can click the icon on my page and write me privately. I might have to set up a special page for discussions- it's been long since I've done that so I'll have to check that out. But I think it would be good to have the opportunity for an open forum about the group. It has been off the charts as far as the growth of new members just in the past few months. New blood is really terrific- but addressing the needs of a much larger, truly "active" group has to occur. This is why I started including my own home as a location for jams- but also because it's a wonderful pleasure to do so.
This incident might dissuade others who have expressed a desire to share their home for hosting as well, and I think it's important that people share their ideas on how to deal with such an issue as potential theft.
I'll try to set up a page on the site here, and I encourage those of you who have constructive thoughts on this matter to share them. I don't want to leave the group but to make it safer and more functional in respect to this increasing size. I am thinking it may be time to make this a private group.
Again, I thank you for your patience and consideration in hearing me out. In midst of great loss, I am blown away by the return of love.
