We are 40-something parents of a four-year old looking for other single-child families with similar interests for play dates and other get-togethers. This group will help to build a community so our children can meet other kids without siblings, and parents can swap stories and offer advice on the challenges of raising children as older parents. At first Meetups will take place in local parks and playgrounds, generally on a Saturday or Sunday. As we get to know one another better we can plan more ambitious outings, such as potlucks, outdoor concerts, hikes, museum visits or even a camping trip.
