Tell us a little about your gardening background and experience...

When I lived in my condo our grounds were well taken care of so I really didn't need to do much, though I did plant a few perennials here & there and made a few patio pots. The house I'm in now has lots of gardens but no spark. The flower garden has no flowers. Looking to remedy that! I've done vegetable gardening the past couple years but found I struggle to know when things are ripe for the picking (i.e., let the basil go too far so, alas, no pesto). I pull out the magazine in an effort to be thoughtful about what to plant but tend get stuck there and never plant. Just looking to learn and enjoy the yammerings of other gardeners!

What would you like to see or learn more about in our gardening meetups?

Just looking to listen and learn and enjoy the yammerings of other gardeners. Learn what some of the good plants are for the PNW. Garden tours sound fun...I love going on walks and peeking in yards.

If we have special workshops or guest speakers, would you be able to contribute a minimal amount to cover basic costs?

As long as it's relevant, would be happy to!

Introduction

I'm a struggling gardener. I want a garden people stop and look at when they're out walking the dog but seem to struggle with knowing what to plant where. This group sounds like a great place to start figuring that stuff out!
