Gig Harbor Historic Waterfront 10k Walk

10km rated 2A for approximately 2km of moderately steep uphill at the start.  The route starts from Ace Hardware. The balance of the walk is nice and easy along the waterfront.  Walk on sidewalks past a museum, visitor's center, numerous parks with restrooms, viewing points, shops, eateries, lovely older homes, marinas, and for those with a thirst, the famous Tides Tavern.

This is AVA walk Y1234. Dogs OK with leash and cleanup of course. No dogs in buildings.

Lunch? We'll decide along the route.

3104 Judson St./ Peninsula Shopping Center.
North or Southbound I-5; Exit 132 onto SR16/Bremerton. Continue across Narrows Bridge to Gig Harbor exit 10/ Olympic Drive. Turn RIGHT on Olympic Drive which will curve left and then curve right and become Soundview Drive. Continue to Judson St. and turn LEFT. Ace Hardware in Peninsula Shopping Center will be on the LEFT. Distance from Exit 10 to Ace is 1.7 miles. From SR 16: Eastbound, Wollochet Ave. exit. Turn LEFT on Wollochet which will become Pioneer Ave. Continue to Judson St. and turn RIGHT. Ace Hardware in Peninsula Shopping Center will be on the RIGHT. Distance from Wollochet exit to Ace is 1.2 miles.

Thanks, Nancy. Gig Harbor is already a 40min drive for me. Longer travel is not possible. I was under the impression that local clubs schedule serve their local communities by scheduling local walks. But maybe not.

Lucy, check for weekend walks coming up. There are a lot of walks all over Washington State on weekends. See the Events listed on the right side of the page. There may not be any at the moment near you, but if you are willing to travel, they are there. When they are in the south sound we'll put them on Meetup.

Will there be weekend walks scheduled soon? I'd love to do this walk and many of the mid-week walks but I generally can't do mid-week walks.
