Join me for happy hour downtown and the ROT Rally parade of Motorcycles. There may be a few black cats on motorcycles, so beware!
The city of Austin closes off 54 square blocks of the downtown area for a huge party on Congress Ave. Friday night, June 13th. It is considered the largest biker party in a downtown area of a metropolitan city. The ROT Rally expects more than 50,000 participants in 2014, and will draw over 200,000 spectators to the downtown streets of Austin during the Friday Night of ROT. Events include nationally known headliner band concerts, motorcycle demo rides, bike shows, and a bunch of vendors. The rally spills out into the surrounding area and downtown Austin where the city blocks off streets for a party centered around Congress Ave on the Friday night of the rally. The ROT biker rally has been speculated to draw 200,000 spectators to the area and over 35,000 paid rally attendees to the Travis Expo grounds. New in 2014 is an additional downtown venue for all ages located at the Austin American-Statesman newspaper grounds.
