Here are the songs for Tuesday August 26. The email went out to the Slow Jam list Sunday morning with the link to download the lyrics with chords. If you did not receive the email, please sign up on our list at http://www.gregnewlon.com/slow-jam.html and I will make sure you get the link to the song page. 1 - Back Home Again
    2 - Bye Bye Love
3 - Wake Up Little Susie
    4 - You Won't See Me
    5 - I Need You (Beatles)
    6 - Lyin' Eyes
    7 - Tequila Sunrise
    8 - Can't Buy Me Love
    9 - Nowhere Man
    10 - Country Roads
    11 - Peaceful, Easy Feeling
    12 - Long Black Veil

Also, has has been previously noted, the emphasis is on the "slow" not the "jam." Ours is a group that loves to play together. Greg provides lyrics and chords to the songs and if anyone has questions about how to play a chord or a rhythm he'll be happy to demonstrate. Don't worry if you don't know your 7th chords or if you're still working on moving quickly to and from your barre chords. Its all about having fun!

I don't think I'm on the email list for the music...either that or I missed it! [masked]

I'd just like to say that there's really no "jam" in this. To me jamming means improvising over a chord structure, perhaps to a famous song or just something with a good grove. This is more people of various abilities strumming through the same song together. Don't get me wrong, that's great too, playing familiar songs and learning a few new chords, etc. is exactly what playing is about. That's how we all start off and often how we practice. It's just that this is not jamming - it's more like a big group music lesson.

And if I'm looking for a jam but am not particularly favoring blues? You know blues isn't the only form of improvisational music.

Hi Bev! We will be there to jam, although he is a much better musician than I! Apparently you know him as you have been judges together. His name is David Scheibner. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi Jeanne - bringing friends is no problem, but I just want to make sure you're clear on what the event is about. The idea is to play songs together for our own enjoyment. We used to also host a song circle for original songwriters, but this is not that at all. All the details for Acoustic Slow Jam are on Greg's web site at http://www.gregnewlon...
