What’s your highest aspiration?
Krishna Das: To be in that love all the time. That’s what I want to do. I want to, no matter what’s happening in my life, no matter who’s there, who’s not there, where I am, where I’m going….I want to be in the presence of that love all the time. I want to be aware of that and I don’t ever want it to turn off. I don’t want anything to be able to turn that off. I want to have the strength of heart to stay open no matter what.
One Track Heart Menu
Curried Potato Salad with Fresh Mixed Greens
A young american rock-n-roll potato travels to India, discovers its love for curry, bathes in the rivers of vegan mayonnaise, and sacrifices itself to the flames of the roasting gods. Curried Potato Salad was born that day and returned home in spirit, where it found friendship and peace with a bunch of organic salad greens.
Coconut Naan with Spicy Mango Chutney
Naan, a soft flatbread, is delicately kneaded with coconut and acts as a vessel of goodness for a spicy mango chutney, featuring mangoes foraged by Chefs Keith and Avril from the trees of Liberty City, Little Haiti, and Miami Shores.
Tridoshic Mung Kitchari
Much like a spiritual journey, kitchari, the “ultimate yogi food”, is meant to detoxify and balance the body. A rice and mung bean dish cooked with Indian spices and seasonal summer vegetables. Kitchari helps remove toxins from the body while providing a good source of protein, carbohydrates, and fiber.
Navratan Korma- Creamy 9-Jeweled Vegetable Stew
In Hindi, “Nav” means nine, and “Ratan” means jewel. Navratan refers to the nine different vegetables in this dish stewed together in a coconut-curry-tomato base all on the same journey, working towards the same goal: to spread happiness and outrageous joy.
Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower
Agni is the Hindu God of Fire, whose flames help digest our food and things that no longer serve us. Pay tribute to Agni, and feed that fire with roasted cauliflower tossed in a mixture of turmeric, cumin, and red pepper flakes, and finished with a cool sprinkling of fresh cilantro.
Dessert: Gulab Jamun
Let us celebrate the lives of Krishna Das and Neem Karoli Baba with this traditional Indian celebratory dessert, Gulab Jamun – sweet nutty balls scented with cardamom and saffron in a gooey syrup. Life is a celebration, love is all there is. Enjoy!
Mid Movie Snack: Dry Roasted Spiced Chickpeas
In an interview, Krishna Das was asked, “What’s your highest aspiration?” And his answer, “To be in that love all the time.” This snack was created for you to remember Love every time you pop a dry-roasted spiced chickpea in to your mouth during the movie.
