I wrote a complaint letter to the organizers, mostly because of how we had to wait in line up to get water right after the race, they should of handed us bottles of water. Here is their response:

Hello Kim, Thank you for taking the time to send your thoughts, I really appreciate it. Yes these are all issues that we are aware of and will be remedied for next year, water especially! We do have security at St. Julianas, I am very upset to hear that they were not at post it sounds like. We keep 4 there until 12:30 am. I will request that they group by age as well on the results. I am sending on the comment on the race start and timing to our partner, Accuchip and will get back to you on that. Again I hope that you will return for an improved race next year. It is because of runners like you that we are able to improve year to year. Best to you,

Just realized Lauren technically placed third in the women!!! Great job! She is listed as 4th, but #1 was a guy named Craig...not a girl!

Last year I picked up my packet at the church 45 min before race time. I had time to get a parking spot, get my packet, register my back pack for the finish line, put my things back in the car and walk over to the starting line.

    May 3, 2012

  • Sam

If I am reading the information correctly you CAN pickup the race packet at the church after 3:30 on Friday. You CANNOT sign up at that time though. Don't be shy Robin!

Hi there! I may be too shy to meet you all ahead of time, cuz I am slow. SO, in that case I will definitely be on the lookout afterwards for any groupies! Not sure I am 100% clear on if we can pick up our packages after 1pm Friday. I don't foresee myself making it by 1pm.

Sandy, quite a few of us have white shirts with the red South Florida Runs logo on them so be on the lookout. I will have my cell so anyone can feel free to text/call me but I can't guarantee I'll have found anyone by then :)

Last year I parked right at the school, by the starting line, lots of free parking, the shuttle brought me right back to my car at about 11:30pm. I packed a backpack with fresh clothes, etc which they had waiting for me at the finish line. I did carry my cell phone, car keys, and money on a waist belt during the run. The gym is a quick walk up Clematis street where they have showers, change rooms, mirrors, bathrooms, etc. It was a bit difficult finding everyone after the race. Any ideas?

Tracy, starting line down south so not sure where could meet ahead of time to carpool, would probably need to be at least 30-45 minutes before the race to get down to the starting line on time if we meet anywhere up close to sunfest. Still have to figure out where to park and and where to leave a bag and take a shower afterwards and all that fun stuff.

Thanks Sage, yeah definitely should take you up on that offer.

That's really nice of you to offer Sage. You may have some takers!

    April 29, 2012

  • Sage

Sounds fun, I'm in. Let me know where everyone is meeting so I can find you. I live 2 mi from there & have 2 bathrooms if people want to shower at my place, welcome to it. Im thinking to go home & shower then head back

    Hello team,
If you have not completed your registration you will want to do so before rates go up on Wed., May 2. I will update everyone with a meeting spot pre-race in the next few days. If you have a So. FL Runs shirt wear it and don't forget to register with our team name "South Florida Runs". See you all there!

    April 25, 2012

  • Sam

I signed up yesterday and used South Florida Runs as the team name

    April 18, 2012

  • Josh J.

Jason it looks like there is a Team Name section when you register. We should all use southfloridaruns.com unless someone already set up a name

    April 17, 2012

  • Josh J.

I'm not registered yet so if you figure it out let me know so I can do it too!

    April 17, 2012

  • Jason S.

Are we registered as a team. Anybody know how to do that.

    April 17, 2012

  • Claudia P.

I recommend a "redneck shower" - just water and a towel - too many at ultima and it rained later in the evening

    April 15, 2012

  • Josh J.

    Awesome thanks!

    February 3, 2012

  • Kimberley

I went for a shower at that fitness center but luckily I got there early as there was a huge line up.

    February 3, 2012

  • Jason S.

You can, figure we're going to get drunk and sweaty anyway. Last year Ultima fitness was letting people go in there and take showers if you had a race bib on. Bib also gets you two free beers.

    February 3, 2012

  • Josh J.

Question for those of you who have done this before? Do you end up just hanging out all sweaty at Sunfest afterward?

    February 3, 2012

  • Josh J.

You had me at "Largest Group will win a Happy Hour Team Party immediately post race on the South Barge."

So are we gonna win largest group or what?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
