Hi there, my name is Ryan and I am a PCDesigner. I have a page on facebook that you will most likely be interested in if you like building computers. Here it is: https://www.facebook.com/PCDesigners. If you like building we are looking for interested tinkerers to check out our progress or contribute with tips and tricks of the trade that we don't already have! Please check us out! :)

If I can make it would you mind if I brought some locksport/lockpick related stuff?

Also, all of you. Bring your favorite hacking device if you want to try the ctf contest. Along with a Ethernet cable. I will take care of all the rest

I am going to need to leave the meetup on this date. I have something planned for the week before and after.
PS, Aden would like to get you attention on a meetup he organized:
If I have some time that night, I will definitely check it out.

I think that works best for me too.
That might not be a bad idea.
I could move this meetup a week if more people can make it that way

This is the 4th of July weekend so I might end up changing my RSVP later.
I am thinking about doing a special meetup this time. A CTF (Capture the Flag). I will setup a virtual network with 4 or 5 servers/PCs on it, all vulnerable in a certain way. One of the machines will have a text on it, containing a secret message. Whomever finds this text file first, will win the contest.
For those of you who want to join the contest I suggest grabbing a copy of Kali Linux: http://www.kali.org/downloads/ and get familiar with it. Online tutorial: http://www.hackingwithkalilinux.tk/2013/08/kali-linux.html Or get a copy of http://www.amazon.com/Hacking-Kali-Practical-Penetration-Techniques/dp/0124077498/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_z/192-8943753-5361950
Feel free to just come and observe as well. I am hoping to meet some of the new people during this meetup. We can talk security and all that good stuff.
Hope to see you all.

Meetup has allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have met naturally - they're totally different than me.
