One of my wilderness adventure racing friends will be visiting Tucson and needs a taste of Arizona mountain biking. We are going to be riding from The Lakes to Hope Camp... lots of sweet, fast singletrack with some fun tech sections and climbing in the middle. We will be meeting at 5am at Hope Camp to shuttle to the start. Hopefully we can beat the heat. :)

Thanks, everyone, for meeting predawn for this ride. My friend Dave had an awesome time and loved the trails! What a great way to spend a cloudy day. :)

Anyone carpooling. If I remember correctly, the parking area isn't huge and I've heard talk of another group having a ride starting from there. Of course we're the only nuts going to be there at 5am so we'll win! lol I wanna drive myself because I may do a bit extra w/Carlos then come back but I"ll park a bit sooner than the trailhead as my mini can fit on the side of the road w/out being in the way. See you tomorrow!

Wendi, I think what you mean by "Hope Camp Trailhead" is the Camino Loma Alta trailhead for the Hope Camp Trail (double track) at the north end of Camino Loma Alta. I edited the map to show this location. (See "note" on this page: http://www.aztrail.org/passages... ) The route is about 30 miles. More of a good bite than just a taste. ;)

Thanks, Tmax, for fixing the location. This is one of my favorite rides in the area, so much fun!
