Gold Canyon Trails network

  • Trader Joe's parking lot

SE corner of Oracle and Magee, Oro Valley, AZ (map)

  • This may be the most fun trail network in the state! Trails are in the foreground of the Superstition Mountains. Very scenic! Lush desert saguaro forest with great views and a very swoopy trail. The trail crosses arroyos many times in different ways from smooth to very rough and fast but most are just fun. "B" lines available for the more tech loving riders.  Ride is 15-20 miles depending on how many trails we hit; 3-4 hours riding time.  We may split into two groups depending on numbers.

This is about 1 3/4 hr drive from Trader Joes, so plan to make a day of it.

See the reviews from our last trip there on 3/10/13: http://www.meetup.com/Southern-Arizona-Mountain-Bike-Association/events/106223662/

Well the weather is uncertain for Sunday. It's a long drive for possible rain. I'm thinking to reschedule. What do you think?

Lets reschedule! I dont want to miss this again, and I really dont want to drive all the way up there and have it raining.

Still think the weather has a chance of being as sweet as it was in the spring, moist tacky soil and clouds sound good.
