This is a very, very important subject and much of this can be
mitigated if you have some game plan ahead of the emergency situation curve.

In your storage and preps, you have (hopefully) started your bulk grain program.
Hard Red Wheat (whole grain), is essential.

I am wheat sensitive; but I can eat Einkorn, the wheat that was used 12,000 years ago and was the original wheat cultivated. By a miracle, that strain of wheat is now being grown again and can be obtained over the internet. I have about 25 pounds of Einkorn wheat berries and am willing to pass some out if any of you are interested. For those of you who have ciliac, you CANNOT eat the Einkorn even though it has a different type of gluten and must less of it to boot. But those who are wheat sensitive, this is a good substitute.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Rather than honey, I would substitute brown rice syrup or agave. I wonder what the grocery stores look like in the Northeast today. Bet the smart ones are ready!

Sadly, I think that even after several severe disasters, very few people are prepared.
