Ride The Path thru Arabia Mtn/Panola St. Park

10:30 AM start time--Come and ride The Path thru the nature preserve, over the covered bridge to Lake Alexander and onto the newest spur along the South Rockdale River Trail to the Conyers Monastery. Shady trail with lots of wildlife and LOTS of hills. Bring water and snacks, there are no store stops (in the first 15 miles) on the trail (there is a "cafe" at the Monastery & a store 16-17 miles out, for those who choose to go that far). End to end is just shy of 40 miles at a 11-13 mph avg.

This ride will be cancelled if its raining or conditions are particularly wet. Please check this board regularly or contact me if you are uncertain. It is a good idea to carry the following on this ride: 1) Phone; 2) water; 3) a snack bar; 4) a spare tube; 5) something to inflate the tube with. (Many of us have spare tubes & CO2 cartridges, so if you don't, you are still covered.)

WEAR A HELMET. There are no exceptions from this requirement.

Water & bathrooms are available at the 11, 15 & 19 mile points.

My phone number is:[masked]--put it into your cell phone. It might be handy if you have trouble finding the starting point or if you have difficulty on the ride and we are spread out. Or the weather creates doubt about the viability of the ride.

Very pretty ride but tough one for beginners - especially with the heat. Good folks on this ride.

Impressive group--10 of 12 went all the way to the Monastery with the other two doing 30 miles.

Hi is this ride still happening? Just got a couple flash flood warnings and the skies look a little dicey.

Its an iffy situation but it appears that the Lithonia area should be OK until this PM. If you ride, as stated above, just need to be careful on the wooden bridges.

      OK thanks.

We may have to walk the wooden bridges today. If you come & ride, please be aware that wooden bridges can be very slick and it is easy for your wheels to go out from under you (I speak from experience).

Any slower riders going? I'm a beginner and don't want to slow the whole group down

Sorry I didn't answer you sooner. No worries, we always spread out. Some people go further than others. Often some head back once they have reached the lake, which is about 11 miles from the start. We always take break & regroup there where there are bathrooms. Just be prepared for some hills & you will be fine.

Hey guys, I am back! After I fell my injuries are ok, and the bike fixed. I also changed my bike's crank for a more Georgia (climbs) suitable one. So, Erika, I will not you allow to leave me behind this time, :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
