Ride Report - Carpinteria 6/20/09

So Carpinteria will once again not know how cool the Chrome divas are...

After Jen and myself left Santa Clarita with some trepidation about the days ride we head over to meetup #2 on Balboa. The skies are gray and dark and the roads are wet, great!!!

Jen and I don't think anyone is going to show up but we wait and see. One by one motorcyles arrive with semi wet riders. The comments made by each and every riders as they pull up and park varies but certainly has the same tone - "what the heck?" "oh my god", "are you kidding me?" or some variance thereof....

After everyone arrives it is decided to find a place close by and have breakfast and wait to see what the weather is going to do. Denny's here we come. I personally witnessed 2 vehicles slide or skid on the wet street in the few blocks it took to get to Denny's. yikes!!

Breakfast was - ok, and the service was- ok, but what always makes it worth it is the company! 2 new faces, welcome Lisa and Marlene, and one we didn't get to meet, Paula. (Paula I'm so sorry!!!!!) Cyndi, Ms T, Cookie, Kay, Halle, Renay, Jen, J~, Trina and guests, you all impressed me by showing up in that weather, Thanks for making the effort...As much as we all really wanted to ride we were not sure of the weather in Simi and beyond and getting wet is one thing, riding in the rain is another.

This is the 2nd bust for Carpinteria.Which is a shame cause it really is a nice ride out to there, but it is Solvang next month and that is a really great ride as well. So I hope to see ya all next month. Ladies keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down :)>
