Wednesday After Work Paddle

High Tide is at 7:30PM which should give us enough water in and around the boat launch. Winslow park has enough parking to accommodate a group of kayakers. There may be a small fee to park and launch - I forgot how much it was (bring lots of money). We have several options depending on the skill level of the group and the current conditions.

Option 1: In case of bad conditions we can paddle upstream to have dinner at the Muddy Rudder

Option 2: We can paddle towards Moshier islands and venture towards French Island or the Upper Green Islands

Option 3: We can paddle upstream Royal River and yell at the boatyard (jk)

Option 4: Head into the Harraseekett River Basin

Option 5: Explore towards Bustins Island and beyond

The launch address is 114 Staples Point, Freeport, ME

I made the decision once up there not to put in, as did Gus and Steve. Beth was going to "wait and see", while Rene and Alison ventured out. While driving home, I couldn't believe the downpour, thunder and lightning that I ran into. I was hoping that Rene and Alison were able to find shelter, and was thinking about Beth trying to load her boat in that type of weather. Glad everyone made it home safe and I'm looking forward to the next paddle. In the meantime, should anyone be interested in paddling Cape Porpoise, please give me a call (207/[masked]) or e-mail ([masked]). I can go anytime I'm in town, but it is tide dependent with a launch to takeout being two hours before high tide to two hours after high tide.

Rene, how do I go about posting a paddle? Would like to host an August 23 paddle (Cape Porpoise), beginning at 9 AM with takeout at 12:30 PM.

Gerry. You click on Suggest a New Meetup and if more than 2 people sign up it will become a real thing. I think You have already done it once. I see under suggested meetups one or yours.

We are planning a short vacation in Nova Scotia and we wish to do some kayaking. Can anyone recommend a kayaking center/guide to go with. things to do, dining facilities etc... We have never been there. Ed I seem to remember you suggested someone.

Don't know if you got my reply yesterday. We lost internet service about the time I wrote until this AM. I have paddled in NS several times and can get you a bit of info.

amazing. Thunderstorm Wednesdays. Those who decided not to put a boat in the water: wise choice :-)

    bummer

please consider the conditions and RSVP accordingly.

I will still be there just because I have the boat on the roof and time :-) but most likely this will be a washout and there will be no paddle.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
